Exhibition

On the first floor of the METU Archaeology Museum building, some finds belonging to four Phrygian tumuli in Ankara, dating to the 7th century BC, are on display. These are the finds from the Great Tumulus, Tumulus I, and Tumulus II, located near the METU campus, as well as the finds from the Beştepe-Gençlerbirliği Tumulus, which was excavated between 1986 and 1988, among the 14 tumuli discovered in the Phrygian necropolis between Atatürk Orman Çiftliği and Bahçelievler.
The archaeological artifacts on the mezzanine floor of the Museum include finds from the excavations at Koçumbeli (Early Bronze Age, 2500-2300 BC) site in 1964 and 1966-1968, and finds from Yalıncak (Late Phrygian-Ottoman, 6th century BC-1950s) excavated in 1962-1964 and 1965-1966.
The METU Archaeology Museum also houses a collection of ethnographic folk handicrafts.
